Do you or anyone have a diagram of the mounting for the alternator that includes both the engine and the alternator???

My parts list shows it separate, The engine has a dynamo on at the moment, I have a alternator and brakets to replace it but the holes on the bracket don't seem to mate up with any on the engine.

i could get you some pic's of an altenator set up tommorow if its any use. i have a 2 1/4 petrol sitting in me shed so would be easy to get in about for pic's. i'v also got one which was converted from a dynamo so i'll see if i can get anything of use from it.

where'd ye get yer alt from? cos they come left and right handed. tha ACR alt you can swap about by turning the part of the housing nearest the pulley. either way i'll try and get yer a piccy tomorrow as me big book of landies was printed in 1969 and the alt was still only an option then. so the fitting it shows int the best way to do it.

Came of a series 3 2.25 petrol think it was '76 ish

Cheers :D

that engine is a petrol 3main bearin out of an 81 S3.
had a look at the older engine that used to have the dynamo, it has a much smaller clamp made from metal plate, not sure if it was a home made job or not, was too dark to get any photo's tho. it was mounted in the same position there abouts.

hope it helps!
