My overdrive has an annoying squeaking rattle, which drives me mad, and I cant seem to cure it, thinking it was the clevis joints on the gear stick operating link rattling, I decided to make a new gear link arm with delrin bearings fitted so there is no metal to metal contact in any of the gear stick joints, waste of time that was, I then thought I had found the problem, one of the screws that holds the transmission tunnel in place was hitting the metal overdrive frame, thinking thats what was causing the problem due to the screw hitting the frame and causing vibration. I quickly shortened the screw, and guess what the rattle is still there
. i have just fitted a 200di in, which seems to shake everything, but that said it rattled with the petrol engine so its not that.
Has anyone else had or got this problem, or has anyone got any ideas what could be rattling, as I am at a loss as to what is causing the rattle.
