So in short, I want a double DIN radio in my pre-facelift Hippo. On the face of it the basic dash looks the same between the two models. FYI I hate the flip up style radios, I know this would be easier!

So here is the plan:
  • Move tailgate window and central locking switches to blank near handbrake (I have a 3 door)
  • Re-home hazard switch (suggestions?)
  • Fit facelift centre console, use facelift heater dials, A/C switch etc
  • Fit Pioneer SPH-DA120 Car Stereo with Apple CarPlay
Questions:
  • Does the console fit?
  • Are the heater dials different? They look very similar.
  • Where do you think the hazard switch could go? Prefer to keep the pre-facelift rubber mats on the dash top.
Has anyone done this before? Sounds easy on the face of it.

Yes it's been done. From memory, the heater stuff is straightforward.
The hazard switch is an interesting one and can't think how the guy who did the swap, got round it.
The windows switches move to the armrest end of the console.

The heater switches will be fine, but change the bulbs in the new centre console before you fit it, they're a git to get at once fitted, unlike the pre facelift.

Thanks for the replies guys. It sounds like it is worth pursuing this then! Slight spanner in the works as I have fitted heated seats since I posted this so there is now more switches to think about... when there is a will there is a way!!!
