I have always used Exmoor, but I cant get one to last more than 3 odd years, even they said thats the life span of a hood.
Now, ive driven a lot of convertibles in my time and I reckon if I were to replace the roof every three years on say my old Saab I would be a bit ****ed,

So, All Wheel Trim, anyone used both and can compare? Longevity? Fit? Colourfast? Are they the same design?

Im not unhappy with Exmoor, their hoods are Ok, they look good and do the job when new , but they do shrink a fair bit and they rot and rip after a few years and I am getting to the stage where I cant be arsed shelling out every few years for a new one,

I have a bikini from AWT it is a good quality piece of kit and seems to have withstod soem punishment quite well. But it is not an all year round fitment.

I know others who are using undercover covers ( comptons 2000) full tilts and so far are happy with them.

Cheers

Are UCC trading still? Their web site is a bit hit and miss.

As already mentioned in an earlier thread, my UCC canvas was still serviceable after 15yrs having required only a couple of new straps and a single treatment of Fabsil, I sold it onto a happy buyer for £50.
That said, when it came to replace it back in 2017 I could not deal with UCC. I wanted a couple of additions (which they had done for me on the previous hood) but they would either not reply or when they did made out they could not understand what I wanted. I got the impression they were not interested in individual orders and instead only wanted contract work.
In the end I gave up and went to AWT. All modifications carried out, decent price and personal service. Went along and collected it personally and fitted it in their carpark. 3-years on it is still (almost) like new.
Earlier this evening I was re-arranging my garage and came across my part used tin of Fabsil, I put it to the back of the shelf as I can see that my AWT hood will not be requiring it for a few more years yet.

Another vote here for UCC. Even the comptons website was not great last time I looked but if you phone them up they could not be more helpful. The quality is good and the customer service is excellent. They are currently doing a set of seat and a hood for a friends sereis 1.

To answer the above on my under cover cover hood
Fit is excellent, the first one they sent was too tight across the windscreen but a photo sent in and a phone call later a courier arrived with a new one and took the old one away at the same time. There has been a small amount of shrinking, but only small and what I would expect form a canvas product but it has not been enough to casue any issues and the fit is still good.

I have had it fitted about 3 years now and I am looking to wax it this autumn before the winter, not because it is no longer water proof but because I want it to last as long as possible and this will help it over the winter.

Colourfast, I have the sand hood, it has faded considerably over the last three years but it is kept outside year round. Again it has not faded any more than I would expect and still looks good, it is definitely still sand rather than bleaching to white.

As far as I am aware what I have is an identical replica of the original series land rover hood so I would expect a defender one to be the same although they do custom work as well so if you want bespoke they will work with you to get a design you want.

I have an AWT truck cab canvas and it’s all year fitment. Had it a few years and did nothing with it. Very pleased and wouldn’t hesitate to replace from AWT if it fails
