Has anyone successfully stopped the exhaust leak from where the manifold and down pipe meet? Both are new one mine and I'm sick of fannying about with it to no avail. I'm tempted to put a gasket between them like the 300 tdi I used to have or is it just a case of slopping exhaust gum in there and living with it?

There is a tin gasket between them on mine from memory, but there is still sooty witness marks on it, but not enough of a leak for me to be worried about.

I just use gun gum on the ring, it makes it easier to do up the bolts too.
