After doing the valve clearances yesterday, I started her up to make sure all was well and noticed there was quite alot of gas puffing from the filler cap opening.

Now it loses a little bit of oil every few hundred miles but this is down to the various small leaks it has, it pulls really well, it doesn't smoke excessively and definitely doesn't produce any blue smoke at any point in the rev range under load or not(had a mate follow me)

Is this somthing to worry about considering it appears to run just fine?

my 2 1/4 petrol leaks about 1 litre of oil per 100 miles and I can feel the pressure when I take the oil cap off ! On the odd occasion I do drive her she is fine Might be worth checking that the pipes attached to the carb/air filter are all ok.

Bit of confusion sorry lol it is regarding my 300tdi Disco

On another note my 2a diesel blows like a steam train lol

how did you set tappets ,excessive crank case pressure is worn bores etc or wrong set tappets

Strange thing is I checked it last night and there was hardly any blow by at all, weird.

The tappets were done by the book and infact its quieter and alittle smoother now.

I dont run veg no, but as said in a previous post it doesn't seem to be blowing any more
