I am looking to put some dedicated road tyres on my P38 as most of my driving is dual carriageway and motorway, I do have a set of off road wheels and tyres when required
While looking through all the brands I saw a tyre with a 'B' fuel rating. In the tech blurb they said that the tread depth was 7.8mm, whats the average depth of an average SUV tyre?
Doing a trawl of the rating information it looks like using a B rated tyre as opposed to a C rated tyre saves 0.1L of fuel. I did a quick check in my head and thought that the additional cost would offset the fuel saving so it would be better to go for a C rated tyre due variety of choice and cost.
Whats everyone's view?
