Recently my 2010 F2 TD4 Aoto became distinctly sluggish off the mark and although fairly usable in light throttle opening is now definately down on power when you boot it. No warning lights and the only error code Hawkeye reports is P0183 - Fuel Temp A circuit High input - and that can't be cleared - but if I remember it was there before - maybe not.
The Air pressures report well in excess of 100 kPA when running on relatively moderate throttle openings and circa 230 kPA when booting a bit harder - but it lacks grunt and seems to hang on to the gears much longer before changing up.
Before I start chasing down power loss and get into looking for hose splits, turbo actuator movement etc can anyone tell me if Error code P0183 is relevent to power loss? it cannot be cleared even on initial switch on without the engine started so it's difficult to believe anything is actually hot.

I'm not sure how an incorrect or missing fuel temperature sensor signal affects the power, but it would make sense that the ECM reduces fuel throughput, as it could over fuel if the fuel is more dense than is calculated.

Best look at the fuel temperature sensor, it's easy to see if it's plugged in, but it could have failed internally, which means replacing it, but be checking it with a DMM before spending £50 odd on a replacement.

Problem SOLVED - a search here on P0183 found a guy called jonny_j had the same power loss problem and found that the plug was loose on the fuel temperature sensor on top of the diesel filter and plugging it in solved his power loss.
I checked mine and found it had not latched on properly - it needed a bit of force to clip it in. Then I was able to clear DPC P0183.
The car is immediately back to it's old form - takes off like a scaded cat - I'm sure it's been remapped or chipped or something but can find no evidence of it.
Anyway - there we go - if P0183 is reported or a strange loss of top end power - check the plug.
So thanks to all above.

So yes, a missing fuel temperature reading reduces power.

Good to know.
