I have a 95 Disco 3.9 V8 with single point LPG. Recently it struggles to idle when on gas and will cut out. It restarts fine and runs reasonably well. When it's on petrol it idles at closer to 1500rpm.

I shall try to get the petrol right first and then gas. Any indications as to where to start would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

First remove stepper motor and gently clean with brake cleaner or the like. Next reset AFM to 1.5 Volts. Go to Technical for method. Do check the timing should be about 6 degrees BTDC for petrol. That should settle the tickover on petrol, the next job is to ask someone more skilled than I to set the LPG mixture/tickover. Cheers Nick

dont do that!
one remove and clean the stepper motor
two remove the intake pipe and clean the throttle housing
three ensure the breather pipe and flame trap are clear
four start engine run to temp
five ensure that there are no loads with the engine running air con heater lights are all off
six connect a seperate tacho and clamp the rubber hose that goes the the stepper motor housing the idle will fall the tacho should read 520+/- 50 rpm. if not adjust the idle screw on the top of the plenum housing then slowly remove the clamp job done!

adjusting the fuel screw on a closed loop afm system will cause running issues
