Hello all.

Might be a daft question. But can I use Universal Tractor Transmission Oil (UTTO) as a replacement for EP90?
In gearboxes and diffs?

I use it at work (exol UTTO undeyed) in all our big tractors both old and new and seems to be wonderful stuff.
Anyone who knows anything let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Utto is a 10/30, so definitely not for diffs, gearbox at your risk!
Not wishing to question your knowledge at all, more out of interest, how do you know that? The data sheet provided does not seem to state the oil weight or sae number. But again from the data sheet it sounds perfect but if it is 30 weight rather than 90 weight I have a sneaky suspicion in a land rover it will exit out of the bottom just as quickly as you pour it in the top!

The data sheet linked to includes viscosity information, it has a viscosity not dissimilar to an 80 or 90 gearbox oil.

So spec sheet says it meets GL-4 and not GL-5 so that makes it OK - ie its yellow metal friendly, and the viscosity is in range so my "maybe" is moving to a "yes".
