Can someone give me advise whether or not to swap my engine. Its an original 2.5t engine with 116k miles. Surely this has many miles left ? why would it make sense to buy a 200tdi with more miles?

Also when i bought the 90 it had a set of five spoke alloys on. Are these gonna be ok for offroading or will these be too week?

if you got money to waste yes get a 200 tdi

the alloys will be crap and you will have a terrible ride prob best to get some tyres on them

Nothing wrong with the 2.5t was a bit worried about it with all the hype about conversions etc.

As for the alloys haha thanks for that!

i ran my old td untill it finally went bang then went for a 200 tdi

so if yours is fine leave well alone they are a good engine if a bit underpowerd

200tdi is the better option and depends how rough your goin to be offroad as i use a set of defender boost alloys with a good set of mud tyres on for green lanin and occasional play day. just depends if your goin to be mental with it

my 2.5na works, but it's really really gutless, so I've got a 200tdi lined up for just that reason! (+the extra economy). If it had a bit more power, I'd have no problem with it :)

The best you can do for it is to fit an intercooler, grab a rad n intercooler from either a 200tdi or 300tdi, pop down the scrapy and grab some pipework and fit it all, I paid £10 for the pipes and about £50 for the rad n intercooler and it makes a nice difference to the engine and will help its life span :D
