Hello People,

I'm at my wits end with my 1999 V8 Disco! Every few months the amber engine warning light comes on. The vehicle has been in and out of Land Rover main dealers and they can't find the problem and just delete the fault codes. Battery was changed and was fine since last October, then this morning on it came again! Does anyone have ANY ideas what may be causing it? Considering buying a rovacom just to delete the faults as it's costing £40 a go for dealership to get it re-set. Car doesn't run rough or lose power.....reallly, really, weird!

Ta ever so:(

Hi, thanks for replying. Same codes each time. DDQA0004. Lamba sensor upstream catalyst bank 1 Drive cycle C, Mixture apaption factor FRA bank 2 Drive cycle C, mixture apaption factor FRA bank 1, drive cycle C, gear ratio monitoring (4th gear).
P code: PO130, P734.
Land Rover made me spent nearly £500 only to say that they basically didn't have a clue!! Changed the battery in October last year and everything's been ok since then after being out last night, driving in torrential rain with heater, radio, amp, wipers, headlamps on etc, the car decided this morning to show an amber engine warning list about 15 minutes into journey. It's all very odd you know!!

As soon as you said out driving in the rain and problem has returned, i reckon its a simple plug somewhere, either faulty or more likely dirty/bad connection.

hmmmm, that's what I am hoping, after all a Land Rover + rain = typical!! Only problem is, that the dash light won't go out until the codes deleted by something like a Rovacom though will it?

take it to a reputable local garage, most of them have fault code readers nowadays and charge a lot less than dealers to reset them ;)

Nah, just petroleum....BUT....would you beleive it....the warning lights' gone off all on it's own. I shouted the magic words "scrap heap" Amazing!!
