Hi Bill,

I've just done this exact same swap, look or my posts on p38 overheating, all the info is there.

If you need any help, just mail me, it's a fairly easy swap.

Let us know how it goes.

Sure I read somewhere that the omega engine is more sluggish than the range rover engine, the cam or something internal is different.

I was looking for a new head for my dse, the place I got my rebuilt head from said they were all the same, same cams.

I've just put an Omega engine in and to be honest it feels much flatter, almost gutless!, my old motor had the hot start fault and did the usual diesel haze of smoke under load, now it starts very easy from hot and never smokes at all, even when the pedal if floored under load, so I think there's a differance in the injection pumps. I have a PSI chipbox that I'm going to try when I get a chance, if that doesn't improve things I'll swap the pumps over.

To be honest, it's not nice to drive at the moment, it didn't exactly smoke tyres before the swap, but it was driveable.:(
