why would you have to swap housing on 2.5td conversion 50a boxes and 56a boxes are directly interchangable without any altering
 
disco does have different bottom bolts def doesnt but even so more than enough bolts left to hold engine/gearbox so i never swap no need to, ive done alot over the years
 
Not sure how you knew it was a Defender engine from the original post.

I appreciate that the Disco and Def engine have a different bolt pattern, I had assumed that the TD/petrol engines where different again, apparently not :)
 
its only disco flywheel housing has different stud pattern,alot of def 200s are running 50a boxes and not 56a as should be
 
offer up and remove studs that dont line up,your left with more than enough for the job,just done mine ,it helps if you can alter series engine mounts to lift engine 25mm
