hi all, the engine in my p38 is past it's best, so i am looking to replace with something different, been looking at a 5.2 magnum from an imported grand cherokee (am i allowed to say that here), open to any other ideas, or anyone done anything simular?

dont really want to replace with a 4.0, or 4.6, as they are mega bucks, and probably shot anyway, dont need mega power either.

cheers

i charge just over £3500 for a rebuilt balanced with piper cam standard engine in a p38a or can upgrade for headsa and cam for around £4500 this includes building and instalation!

Fook me that's the worst Spam I've ever seen

nice 1 redhand

sirus, i can get me own, thanks for the offer tho

i can get tophat liners machined in for about £600 (supplied and fitted, and bored to pistons etc.), then just gotta buy a complete engine gasket kit, i can do all the rest myself. Seems pointless doing it to my 4.0, so i have put up a request for a 4.6, but no-one seems to have 1.
this is why i thought about the 5.2 grand cherokee option, i bought 1 for a doner, with sequential LPG, but possible too good to break, so i have found another 5.2 in a breakers, all running for £500, i can sort the electrics, and management, and fabricate engine mounts. My main concern is fitting the engine to my gearbox (it's a manual), the rest i can handle

Is it a Hemi?

I had the new 5.7 hemi when I was in canada this last year , sounded nice and very torquey, not as quick as my BMW mind.

The 6.1 hemi is the one you want though!
