I have a M reg 4.6 hse.
Not had it long and few little probs to sort like new thermostat and a height sensor. Nothing serious.
That is untill the other day it just would not start, turning over and over but not firing.
The previous had a gas conversion done professionaly but ive only had the car a week and I havent used it yet.
So, its turning over fine but not firing.
Just for the hell of it I switched it to gas and hey presto started straight away.
50yrds down the road started to splutter, I assume as the gas was all but empty.
Switched it to petrol and evrything was fine. Drove fine for the rest of the day.
The following day, same problem.
Switched it to gas, (it worked before right)
Still nothing. Switched back to petrol.
Im no expert but I do tinker, so im under the bonnet and I find the injector emulator for the left bank, theres one for each and disconnect it.
Tried starting it and away we go, but seemed lumpy. Reconnected the emulator and she was happy. Got approx 3 miles down the road and she splutters and dies.
Tried starting her but she didnt wamt to know.
Repeated the tinkering from before and disconnected the emulator. Now she starts and as before shes lumpy till I reconnect the emulator.
So this morning, same thing, wont start, but this time dissconnecting the emulator doesnt help. Further tinkering and I end up dissconnecting the injector plug from the emulator on injector 1 and connecting directly with original injector plug from factory. She starts fine but after 2 mins dies out again.
So thats were we are now, she eventually starts, runs a bit rough, and dies.
So I start gain, runs rough and I give it a bit of a rev to around 3k and hold. But the she dies even when reving, doesnt just peter out, she drops right out, rev counter drops like a stone like ive turned it off.
Fuel pressure seems ok.
Im not smelling fuel like shes flooded.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
