Afternoon all, I know my engine is a 2 1/4 petrol, not the original one as my series 3 109 was a Diesel when made, not sure what one though. Can anyone make out the serial number on the photograph, going to get a wire brush In a bit to give it a going over.

its a 901 engine 3 bearing 8:1 compression.
