Sorry to bother everyone but im taking the engine out of my 1995 rangerover manual. If I pump the suspension up,block it so it stays up can I remove the engine only,i.e. without the gearbox etc. I have a jcb teleporter so lifting it isn't a problem.

The suspension may not lift it high enough. You need as much space between axle and sump as you can manage. Lift the chassis so the axle is hanging then put on stands. Support box with a jack. You will need everything out from in front of engine.
