Hi all who are interested.

I have taken the car back and the company have fixed the oil leak.....there was a groove worn into the crank pulley which was missed on inspection.......... They said however that it would be silly to investigate that tap that is coming at tickover from the engine...... It now sounds actually worse that before it was re-built, and i have to say that it is really starting to worry me in terms of things that have been missed......anyway, it is all ongoing and i shall keep posting and hopefully they will pull the rabbit from the hat.

so they arnt going to fix the tap?

if so thats rubbish, new engine and compensation for time please!!!!

Hi guys....it's bizarre really that any company wouldn't want an engine with their badges on to be nothing short of perfect (i would!). It has a definate cam tap, more than likely because of a lazy cam follower imo (based on the knowledge that when the engine failed it failed because the cam follower was "pumped" after the re-build and i think they blew it out with an airline)....and that requires fixing...simple. I knew that's what it was but it seems as said that that would be silly to investigate.....possibly the daftest thing a buisness has said to a customer ever.

As i said it's ongoing and i have already spoken to various authorities, specialists and consumer groups to double check as i go along and it will be sorted.

The short answer being i have no clue as to why it would be silly to investigate.

I have a 4.6 on the engine cradle as i said, as i wouldn't trust it to anyone else now but i shall be talking to vouge when i need any engineering doing as there is a growing list of things that weren't checked on inspection.

Anyway it's time for wine.

u poor fella , I would be in there shouting for my money back or I will report what happened on every forum in the uk just for starters!

Instead he is bring the car to me to list the faults and I will show the failings of the other engine builder!

V8 developments and V8 tuner are good places, however there are ceRtain Places I would not go to.

Rpi did indeed fix the fault on my brothers car, at no cost to him and he is very happy with their service.

they sound as bad as the guys in a diesil garage in middle rasen in lincolnshire £1200 it cost me with no fix was still cutting out when warm and it turned out to be the 2 pin amplfier on the coil that was knacker'd then i was took for a ride by famous four cost £70 for a new one then they had the cheek to charge me £30 for a 3pin lead conversoin
then it blew again just recently and found from a company in kent that a £80 cheaper and it came with a new lead must have had sucker tatoo'd on my forehead that year
