Got a oil and filter change booked in tomorrow at Central Tyres (using castrol edge td fully synthetic), for £41 all in so thought snap it up. Is it worth me getting a new sump plug and washer and askin them to fit it while they do it, and if so, where will i get one today (Sunday)??

Cheers in advance

Only need to change the copper washer at best. Motor Factors stock them, usually get a small plastic bag of them for next to nothing. Problem is you need to get the correct size and without removing the plug to measure your original, thats where the problem lies.
The original washer should seal ok, many people do not bother to replace them at oil change time. Perhaps when you get it done, measure the washer when the plug is removed at the garage and get yourself a few for when you do it next time.
Some drain plugs use an "O" ring, but the majority are copper washers

£41 all in!!!
I thought I got a good deal on Castrol Edge when I did mine and it cost me £78 for 10 litres, plus about £6 for the filter!!
How can they do it for that? Not that you'll care much as it sounds a pretty good deal to me

Sorry del meant to say National Tyres, go to their website put in your number plate and up it comes, says theres an additional charge if you require more than 7litres (think the L322 does) so will see how much extra, but still a good deal! Read about it on a bmw forum, am tempted to take a spare 5 litre can and ask spotty geeky tyre fitter if he fancies selling me another 5 litres for bit of beer money :D

Will you report back on the actual cost once you have had it done, just checked mine out and it says £41 as well

Matt

The TD6 needs 8.75 litres if the filter's changed as well. Will definitely remember this next time mine needs doing.

Was hoping to report all good things back guys but alas, ****s couldnt even get it right. turned up nice and early, 10am first in

"oh sorry mate, we forgot to order in your oil filter, and bank hol so no where open to get you one today, can you come back tomorrow?"

"well i can do nob head, but what about my 2 gallons of diesel i used to get here, wasted journey?"

blah blah finally agreed to do engine flush too but no refund for diesel used (stil lwant it done there as its dirt cheap), got manager to throw in coupel of extra litres in an old container for me when i go back Thursday (fingers crossed)
