Hi Folks
Im slowly getting to grips with my Rover and loving every minute. I was reliably told the lump in there is a 2.5 n/a petrol but the original was a 2.25 (its an S3 on a modified 90 chassis). BUT... looking at the serial number (11H*****) this seems to suggest its still a 2.25 (2.5s have the prefix of 17H).
Ive read the cylinder blocks are interchangeable - could this be why or was the original rebuild (1996) dodgy?
Is there other ways to identify the 2.5 over the 2.25?
Thanks
Further to this, Ive read it seems the Police had 2.5s which were simply re-bored 2.25s.....this could explain it as this lump is supposed to have come from a Police 110..
