Evening All!
New here from Australia 👍
Currently own a D2A with a 4ltr.
Trying to decipher engine number.
Engine has been changed at some stage previous to me. Was 56D…now XM60. Is this a LR replacement? Updated liners, etc?
Any info would be great!

Cheers from OZ

I'm keen to see if anyone can answer this as my 2004 4.6 (sold in us) has a XM50...... number on the block next to the dipstick.
I have no info from the previous owners time concerning any repairs.

Nor have I found anything googling around.

You may get some answers!

but it might just be that the '56D' engine went 💥 and has been replaced with your XM60! If that's the case?? Just drive it!!🤪 like the rest of use! We sort the problems when they hit us👍

Happy driving 🤪

Thanks Kev!

No problem with driving it 👊 pulls like a train. Just wanting some clarity on whether it has been “re-manufactured” with the good bits! From what I’m led to believe, it’s a factory replacement

Enjoy 🍻😎

I don't know anything about the number.
But I would say that I have never heard LR ever fitted top hat liners or improved the block casting to stop liner movement.
Sorry  .
