As per header gents where is the location of engine number?
Motor is a 3.9 v8 from a 1989 RRC?

Need to change it on v5 and send off

dipstick area on 3.5 so unless I'm having a moment -same on 3.9

Yep, that's the one, just in front of dip tube on the block and the engine number is right next to the compression ratio stamp.

Got the number guys does it indicate the year of the engine?

it is a factory 3.9 litre 1988 onwards according to my list

I got the same information.

So, factory 3.9L Rover V8 1988 onwards with 9.35:1 compression ratio.
