Hi all been a while. Does anyone know about checking engine mounts on td5 disco two. I seem to remember someone saying look kin the hole underneathmount and there should be a gap of about 10mm between metal and rubber. Just checked mine and rubber is filling hole. Has anyone got pics? Any info on this would be grateful. Thanks in advance.

If rubber is filling the hole, it's knackered. Before shelling out on new ones (and you'll want genuine or OEM), any sign of oil contamination? Long term oil exposure can cause the rubber to soften and collapse over time

No idea but it sounds like one of those "if in doubt, swap it out" type parts, they are certainly cheap enough considering how old the originals are and how long these brand new genuine ones will last.

Don't worry about pics. As said, if the rubber is down to the hole, then they are knackered, there should be about 10mm between the hole and the rubber when you look up from underneath. You will be pleasantly surprised how much difference it makes. If they are f'bard, the chances are the two gearbox mounts are as well, better to replace them at the same time as well.

Thanks all just phoned my local landrover dealer and he said engine one s £57 each and both transsmision one are about £18 each so ordered the lot and will give you update on completion.

Ok quick update all mounts engine and gearbox. Was it it an improvement? Defoe worth doing chasis at lot firmer. Sometimes when I was sat in traffic I would let go of clutch and car would chug or wobble. Nice and refined now. Didn't follow rave and found by just releasing fuel cooler (4 bolts) and gently moving away I could get to all bolts. If any one would appreciate a proper write up I will endeavour to type one next weekend

Did you ever do the more comprehensive write up as mentioned?
