Hi,
A few days ago, my mechanics told me that i should change the engine mount. I ask him to do it.
But, when I pick up the car, I notice a big vibration when the car is not moving...
I believe this is related...

Questions:
1 - Is it normal to change only one engine mount? If not, could it be the reason for the vibration that I feel?
2 - According to the mechanic, the reference used was kkb500750g. After a search I found the reference also kkb500750. What is the difference between kkb500750g and kkb500750?

Thanks for your inputs

The "g' indicates a Genuine Land Rover part in a land rover box - NOt an aftermarket part.
It's usual to replace both as they will both be worn out.
The only parts worth fitting are Genuine as many, many people have had negative experience with aftermarket suppliers of these engine mounts.
Your experience is common if aftermarket parts have been used.
Ps vibration is also possible if the engine has not been re-aligned correctly after lifting it to replace the mounting.

It doesn't necessarily mean a geniune part - LR themselves don't put the G at the end, although some sellers do. Companies like Britpart also put the G at the end of an aftermarket part to indicate the part is from the "OEM" supplier.
The G at the end doesn't mean anything consistent and you should check with the mechanic what brand the part was.

Changing just one engine mount seems bonkers though. If one's gone the other has too - they should be replaced in pairs.

+1 for that ^^^. It's a whole mess with the suffix used on LR parts these days, "G" is usually used by sellers for te so called "OEM" parts while this is another marketing scam but at least should have a known brand, the genuine LR parts should have the LR suffix, in this case KKB500750LR was the most reliable option but these became obsolete and very hard to find so the G part remains the only acceptable version, in some cases the sellers consider this G as being "genuine" but cheaper ones without any suffix or the brand clearely shown it's definitely wasted money.

meanwhile I order the second engine mount and next week I will ask a Land Rover expert mechanic to change it. Hope it solve the problem.
Thanks everyone.

Hi all I done mine 2 days ago before reading this and can confirm that any aftermarket ones are crap got a set off engine mounts and gearbox mounts in all makes boxes and the vibration at idle is terrible.
After reading this I have now ordered a set off engine mounts from Craddocks KKB500750LR £265 the other set for all 4 was £104 from Bearbones off road would not advise using after market.
I just wish I had researched before hand.
Now I will have to spend another 2 hours under the thing doing the again.
Well you live and learn. Will be reading in landyzone before buying any more parts.

cheers
Stewart.
