At the NEC Caravan Show, there was a very persuasive guy trying to sell me the WOW engine remapping system in order to improve (Amongst other things)my caravan towing performance. The van weighs a max of 1475KG, so I am a bit anxious about starts on very steep hills.

Does anybody have any comment on the WOW for the purpose above?

Any experience of towing this sort of weight with a Freelander TD4 [06] would also be much appreciated.

I would suggest ya try it on the main road up outta lyme.Ive never heard of a freelander towin that without rippin out the centre diff...

You shouldn't have aproblem with that weight 'van but a remap / tuning box can only help. I've got a Rover Ron box on mine.

As for tacos then I prefer the El Paso ones :)

And since when did FL's have a centre diff???

hi mate tow a van myself about 1100kg had a remapp to my td4 will worth more power and extra miles to the gallon mate quick to get up to speed

So,

Who or what is a "WOW" remap ?? and how much spondulas?

Best thing to do is fit a an EGR bypass and a RoverRon box

If you have an Auto then fit an additional cooler for the box.

A 1475kg caravan is within the braked axle 2000kg towing limit for the Freelander - as long as you are careful of all the extra weights such as gas bottles, food, kids etc.

Don't need a personal Tacho until the Gross Train weight exceeds 3500kg - and as the Freelander is approx 1500kg weight, you're just inside.

A TD5 Discovery would tow it much better and safer, BUT would exceed the GTW !!!
