Recently my Freelander TD4 has dropped its MPG down to 19 MPH with a noticeable lack of power and the amber engine warning light has come on, any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Limp Mode. Could do with a diagnostic reader to find the problem first. Do the basics first Oil Water Fuel Electrics. Freelanders have a few sensors that can cause issues.

...and plenty of other things that can break to. Even if they are generally a pretty reliable car.
