Can anyone help please.

I have a 1994 Disco 3.9i V8 petrol. Its Saudi spec.

Last week I was driving it at no great speed. Suddenly there was a loss of power. I dipped the clutch and the engine continued to tick over. When I engaged gear and tried to set off it splutered and there was no power. The cluch was engaged again and the engine still ticks over. If I turn the engine off and restart it will travel for about a mile before the problem comes back again.

I have put a new fuel filter on and the relays seem ok in that they click but this has made no difference. There is no miss fire and it starts first time.

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Kusty

Couldnt be some kind of electrical fault or air leak.
Check leads and plugs first ir replace them anyway

then check all rubber hoses, make sure there not split and check all clips that hold them onto engine (jubalee clips):)

hopefully that could solve something

So logically the problem mainly occurs when the car is under load, even if its just itself its moving.

So electrical wise see above, make sure your confident they are ok. Otherwise it could be a fuel issue, maybe a blockage and the fuel cant get through quick enough.

My money goes on electrical though.
