Hi folks my engine blew itself up without warning around 1.30am this morning on my way home from work.
I am not throwing any more money at the Landy but will sell as repairs or spares so I'm wondering how much it is worth now?

Its a 2005 Freelander Commercial
White
MOT until November, not that that matters much now
Solid body
Tinted rear window with guard
Bulkhead guard
Sidesteps with stainless supports
AT2's with good tread
Seat covers and overall good condition

Good Points

Solid body
Clutch is 6 month old
All injectors have been done July 2014
Rear exhaust replaced 2 month ago
Bad Points
Brake pipes under advisory for MOT
Engine not working

I'm putting it on ebay ones I have an idea of what I can get for it

Not sure but it is major
When turning over it makes and almighty racket without starting and then it sounds like there is an angry snake in the engine bay as compression escapes which means the block is probably cracked. We towed it to Corby Diesel this morning and it will cost whatever it is and I'm not paying out another penny on this car.
Basically I have had enough of it. I just wish it had caught fire instead
A ongoing nightmare these last 12 month

Beginning to feel the same, bought 2004 TD4 commercial about 3 months ago and so far changed clutch, gearbox, exhaust, tyres, diff mounts & suspect vcu on last legs.

I'm looking for a donor - not much cash to spare due to being scammed by some scumbag...... anyway..
My profile has the entire story - explaining why I haven't got much cash to spare and why I'm repairing a freelander 1 (commercial as is happens)

Presumably you knew the gearbox was faulty when you got it and the other items are just service items that would also have needed doing when you bought it. Should be good to go for a long time now :)
