Hi Everyone,
I have a L322 2007 (3.6 TDV8). The car's got a fudged electronic parking brake/handbrake (long story but it wasn't our doing). The sympoms are it was screaching like bilio when trying to move the car or operate the EPB and it has a warning on the dash. We've found the cable on the rear left is not attached, it appears to have retracted and is only just reachable via the hub. We've tried using the unjaming procedure but no avail, its still not freeing up enough to come back into its retainer. I've had a search but couldn't find any similar situations that might point me in the right direction. I'm hoping I can avoid an actuator/cable replacement.
Does anyone have any constructive suggestions please?
Thanks

Are you saying it’s detached at the wheel hub end? You can see where to attach but can’t quite get enough slack?

if so have you tried to pull the emergency release to give more slack.

but you may find it has now overwound and jammed.
Here’s a bit of good reading https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/epbs.350044/

good luck

Thanks for the reply. Yep you summarised the problem perfectly. It would appear its over-wound but need to get the old motor out. It looks like it sits above the diff (?) so I assume removal is from the inside as the bolts appear to come from above. Lifted the seats and had a look around as although I've ready a few posts about the motor being just in front of the spare wheel well it seems there is no sight of it on ours. Does anyone know if you have to remove the seat catch handled and lift the carpet? Or something else? Thanks

I believe you will find that LR say that the rear subframe has to be lowered to get to it.

I have not looked closely to mine, to suggest any other way. I believe you can wiggle it out of the D3/sport without dropping subframe but not sure about the 322.
Not a quick job me thinks:(
