Hi All,
My auto-dip interior mirror decided to p!ss it's black oily juice all over my dash and centre console. Really annoyed as I only got it about 6 months ago and it had been working perfectly until the leakage.
I know there's a place in the US that replaces the glass in these mirrors, but frankly with postage and the inevitable time-lag, I might as well pay the £60-£70 they seem to go for on Fleabay.
So whilst trawling t'internet for sensibly priced replacements (and realising that you need to ensure you get the right one for your car as electrical connectors and windscreen brackets changes in '99) I came across this...
rear view mirror auto dim anti glare FOR Range Rover | eBay
Aside from looking rectangular enough to have come from a 1978 VW Jetta, it seems on the face of it a good idea to fit new as these electrochromatic mirrors all seem to leak after a decade or so. I'm sure I could bodge it onto the Range Rover mirror fittings and electrics fairly discretely; but I have never heard of this company. Anyone any experience?
Alternatively electrochromatic interior mirrors from recent Mondeo's seem pretty cheap, look fairly similar to the Rangie ones and Ford stuff is usually trustworthy...anyone tried to splice one from an alternative maker onto a Rangie?
Thoughts appreciated..!
