about 6 mths ago we had a dead short on batt cables. Since then we have
replace: starter, alt, new batts, batt cables and have done cks on fuses.
The pkup has power to the system but will not turn over. We hear clicking
like the cellinoid in starter working. We have hit a wall. Any ideas
would be appreciated. Might help us get past block. Thanks

99.99% of the time when you short battery cables you kill the fuse
links. These are 8" or so soft rubber wires with big fat rubber tube
crimp connectors where they join the harness. The normally come off the
starter solenoid or relay. Just follow the main positive battery
cable. Where it bolts on, the fuse links bolt on the same place. You
replace them by color or gauge and the new ones must be crimped on. The
dealer sells the wire in bulk.

They connect things like the alternator to the harness so even if you
follow the main alternator wire, you will find the fuse link wire where
it joins the battery cable.

The clicking can also mean the 'new' battery was never charged....
