Whilst I was vacuuming my Landy (instead of paying someone else to do it) I noticed an electrical connector thingy mounted below the central cubby by the driver's seat (LHD).

What's that for, then?

It's a 2006 110.

Ah, no wonder my phone wouldn't charge!

It's kind of what I thought. I remember in my Disco it was somehwere under the dash and my local Landy agent were forever complaining that the connector was corroded and the couldn't connect to the EMC and so all my services felt incomplete. But I figured that the connector was corroded becasue the AC had leaked less-than-pure water into the area, which is a common fault with Discovery's I beleive.

Thanks.

the 'less than pure water' you speak of is condensed water which is about as pure as you can get. and it dunt leak from the A/C it condenses on the evaporator and should drain away through two pipes than lead to underneath yer vehickill. these pipes block up with road crap or what ever crap you've been driving in . then the water has to find somewheres else to go, that when it pour down from yer heater unit and forms a puddle in yer foot well...
...
if you do have water leaking from yer A/C then you have a problem wiff it as it should have gas and nowt else in it. .. water will knacker the workings of yer A/C
