Hello,
This is my first post but i have been lurking around your site for a while as a guest. i have just moved this from the wrong section of the forum in the hope of more solutions. Thanks for replies so far.
I have trawled through as many EKA posts as i can read and over the last 2 weeks tried everybodys different methods and solutions to get my 1999 P38 petrol started. It still hates me. I left it for 2 weeks and came back to a flat battery, charged it and it has gone into lockdown. Engine disabled, windows unset. I have reset the windows and followed the book on how to access using the EKA code. My personal EKA code doesnt work and the 1515 code does not work. I think it must be the way i enter the code or an issue with the actual door lock..................Am i warm? Can anybody advise on what to do next?
The EKa code has been confirmed by the dealer.
I have tried the 4 unlock turns before trying the code.
The red light flashes all the time on the dash, it speeds up when i open the door and the side lights flash a few times. But no alarm sounds
When entering the code the red light doesnt stop or change it just continues to flash
I have also disconnect the battery, reconnected it, set the windows and entred the code.......nothing.
Any ideas would be welcome, cheers

eka no good to you its gone out of sync by the sound of it. now what engine do you have in it? gems or thor?

does the side light warning light on the dash flash each time you enter a turn of the key when entering the eka code?

I beleve Rick the Pick is on the south coast, he may help you out as your not far away. thats if he still dose them :)

I have a 4000 Gems, 1999 petrol/lpg.
The small red flashing light i speak of is up on top of the centre of the dashboard. Are we talking about the same light or should i be looking for a light on the speedo unit??

not the red light.turn on the side lights, thats the light on the dash your looking for when you put in the eka code.turn the side lights off before you try though.regards

Right,
The EKA is not being recognised then as my side light display is not doing anything when i enter the code. I should be looking into the actual door mechanism then.

could be,mine was flashing when entering code, becm recieving code but not activating anything.needed becm revirginalising then reprograming.sounds like a problem with lock [micro switches] or wiring.does the fob unlock all doors?i left mine and the r/f reciever was relocking front doors due to rogue signals, even though they were locked, until they burnt out the locking motors and flattened new battery.

My fob has also stopped working even tho it looks to have good batteries. Red lights on fobs still flick up when buttons are pressed but doors do not unlock/lock

hope these help

hi mate, sounds as if you have same problem as i had.first you need to get it on diagnostics see what comes up.with mine it was like a chicken and egg senario.first got becm sorted[this may not be your problem],then new front door locks and r/f reciever disconnected.no problems so far, touch wood.will change r/f for latest model if all well in a couple of weeks.:frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty:.check my posts over the last few weeks, titled c/l problems,it may make you feel better, theres many more of us in the same boat

First step, what voltage have you got at the battery? They do not like low volts. Before going for the hard stuff, I would disconnect the battery, give it a good charge, make sure you have at least 12.5 volts with it connected, preferably 12.8 or more and then try again.
