Just hoping for a bit of advice, I have just bought a blanking kit for the exhaust gas recirculation valve on my 300tdi 110. I have also bought the new top hose to replace the original one that has the branch on it for the valve. Fitting the kit seems dead straight forward, my question is under the middle seat in the front row there is a small black box with several wires running to it, this box is marked EGR! Is this a coincidence or does this actually have some bearing on the EGR valve? I am replacing the centre seat with a cubby box so ideally I would like to either get rid of or re-site the box. Any ideas?

Hi, I recently took the EGR system off my 300tdi. The box located in the battery compartment can simply be unplugged and removed. It makes a much tidier job if you remove your EGR from the manifold totally rahter than just inserting the blanking, and then blank off the vacumm hoses on the air cleaner and brake vacuum joint and remove the actuator. There is also a throttle position sensor which can be unplugged too. Sounds more complicated than it is, just a matter of tracing pipes and wires if you're unsure ! Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, someone must have re-positioned my black box from the battery box and screwed it to the bottom of the centre seat at some time! Can't see why though!
