Depends a lot on your pocket and the mileage of your car.
My suggestion would be to do the job right, and bin the whole EGR thing, lock stock and barrel.
Then clean out the whole inlet manifold ... it will be full of ....
... I don't know how to say this without causing offence ....
... a horrible sticky filthy black gunge .... like ....
