Can anyone help me find, how to blank off the EGR valve.

I have just purchased a 1996 300tdi after selling my beloved P38.

I can't find a link or search on here for it.

Do I just buy a plate and seal off fleabay and blank off??

Cheers BB

Basically, yes. Soak the bolts in plus gas or some other penetrating fluid as they are usually very tight. You will also need a new top intercooler hose.

not if he buys the blanking plate he wont, if he buys the deletion kit then it should come with a new hose but for just a blanking plate he can simply split the flanges place in the blank and tighten the flange back up, it looks the same to any MOT inspector type chap and does the same job as the deletion kit but doesnt look as tidy, it just looks stock.

Go onto the Difflock site. They did have a. Complete instruction with pictures at one time.

+1 best way

Just blank it off with a plate on the block and replace the top intercooler hose with a straight one. I've never had any issues mot'ing without the egr

Don't forget that if you remove the EGR itself you'll need to plug the vacuum hose - if you don't you won't have assisted brakes ;)

Now i'm bolloxed?????
Do I just buy a plate off ebat?
and fit it?
Or do I have to do more?
I want to leave as standard and blank off?

Simply block it off using any method. However, over many years the egr will deposit lots of muck in the inlet manifold. Take it off and clean it out to gain a small but noticeable improvement in performance
