Hello All.
I'm blanking off the egr on my 2013 FL2 2.2TD. Does anyone know of anyone in the Medway Kent area who'll delete the egr and get rid of the eml for a reasonable fee?

You have to ask the question, why?
Unless it's beyond repair and you don't want to replace the faulty components, the engine runs better with the EGR operating.
There's a huge amount of turbo compressor stall with the EGR disabled, giving a flat spot right where you don't want one.

I've seen the various threads and articles giving reasons for blanking and deleting the egr.
I can see opinion is divided but I've blanked off mine and disconnected the plug and it runs better than it ever has, no flat spots etc. The only downside with the FL2 seems to be the eml ‍♂️

You're lucky then.
Mine ran horribly, so I put the EGR back in use. My engine warms up faster in winter, and is better on fuel with the EGR functioning too.
The only downside with the FL2 seems to be the eml
Indeed, as it's a change to the operation of the emissions system, which has to be reported by means of the MIL.

It can be switched off with the correct programming equipment, but I've no idea who can do it in your area.
 
Agree with Nodge blanking off the EGR benefits only when it's shot aka FUBAR.
That is the reality, on paper, google and fanboys posts you will find only "benefits" in reality not so much.

That's useful to know. I kept mine on after cleaning everything out, so it's good to know its better with. Whether it is working properly I don't know. I tested it wasn't stuck by pushing a steel rod into the opening and watching the valve open. I suppose what one needs to do is test the solenoid.
 
I'm a little intrigued by this. What's the difference in the systems between the FL1 TD4 (where EGR blanking/deactivating is a clear benefit), and the FL2 units that makes EGR blanking not favourable? Presumably the intake system still gums up over a long period of time?
