With regard to blanking the egr on a 300tdi, is there any reason why I can't just undo the allan bolts, put in a piece of stainless steel and bolt it all back up again? Do I need to go the trouble of changing the pipe etc?

I did mine like that with a 2 pence piece-just fits in the gasket-works fine,and looks std still
