When I swap the pump and injectors, do I unplug the ecu, what happens to the mass air flow unit, and the other sensors and the check engine light

I swapped the whole 300Tdi engine (ECU & Electronic pump) for a 2.8 TGV (No ECU & Mechanical/Manual pump).

The original ECU is still there and plugged in but not used. The MAF went on ebay and the check engine light never shows it's ugly face. :)
