Has anyone tried ebc slotted discs and yellow stuff pads?
Any feed back?
Im getting brake fade when towing and I'm fairly sure my brakes are shot.
I would like to buy british but they are £4-500 for both front and rear.
If they last better i will get them as im keeping the car long term.

What sort of thing are you towing?
We do a lot of heavy towing and never have this problem but our trailers are braked and kept up to snuff.
Maybe the trailer needs a good service.
Just saying, not criticising.;)

500 for all 4 corners sounds like a good price anyway.

When was the last time your brakes had any love?
As above you don’t say what your towing, but good brakes on car and trailer should not be a problem.

old brake fluid, time for a flush maybe:).

Yellow stuff pads are a bit overkill i'd have thought .... slotted disks do help cool and disperse dust etc.
Mintex should do the job as long as the fluid is good, disks flat and the caliper pistons are free.

The trailer and load are rarely over 2.5 ton but there are a few hills over here. The brakes should be ok on the trailer as its only about 3 years old but, good point and worth a look.
For reference i can get borg and bec, front and rear for £240.

I’ve got the EBC GD Sport Drilled & Slotted Rear Rotors #GD957 & Front Rotors #GD994 with Akebono pads. Stops on a dime, er, 10 pence piece with very low brake dust.

I just had a look and there's loads of pad left. The front discs are a bit thin at 21-22mm and one rear wheel bearing O ring has gone. Ill give it a fluid change this weekend.

I have ebc on both my disco & defender plus on my last two discos never had an issue
towing a mini digger & road roller ect. :)

Yellow stuff I had on my Evo 6 they are sh!te nowt when cold & squeal like a half throttled pig.o_O

Hi, I fitted EBC's to my FL1 & they performed great although I don't do any towing. The only thing you get is a whooshing noise when slowing down but I presume you get that from all drilled/slotted discs. On my D2 I put Mintex discs/pads front & rear again well happy with them.

EBC greenstuff are very good to pricey in my mind, softer pad with slightly longer pedal travel, minimal brake dust.
D3 is running EBC ultimax pads at the minute, seem quite good, 50 quid for both axles.
I would just get plain discs, slotted/drilled always look crap when they are worn.

I just changed rear bearing O ring and bled the brakes and wow what a difference. I had a play with the Hawkeye to bleed the abs and managed to shift a load of air. Thanks for all the replies.
