thought id cracked it last week with some help from chrisfrain2007 found a lleak on the side of the block which tuned out to be a bad fitting pipe i trimmed it up and replaced it and the car started to raise. it will sit allnight on the highest setting yet as you use it during the day opening and closing the door seems to affect the hight this morning it took ages to rise 20 mins but onces its up and warm you can let it down to its lower setting then raise it the back rises ok but now the front seems to struggle but gets there eventully could this be a leak on the front end? woundered if anyone had any ideas before i start pulling the plastic wheel arches out to get to the front bags regards brusboy

If it's a diesel, no need to pull out the plastic liners. Sounds like you deffo have a leak or a duff compressor.

hi datatek its petrol v8 on lpg ive had the compressor to bits fitted o rings but didnt get around to fitting the piston seal ive took the fillter from the front of the compressor put my finger over it and its sucking air but im not too sure how strong this should be

Lift the compressor up, disconnect the blue pipe and see if you can stop the air coming out. If you can the compressor is NBG:)

ill give it a try tommorrow its at my pals garage, the pump seems tobe working over time, if its poor ill try and fit the new piston ring let you no how it goes regards brusboy.

There is a like thread on here at the moment, follow the instructions i gave in than to check compressor output and diaphragm for leaking.

i fitted a new diaphram in the block last week , loosened the compressor and the blue pipe got the compressor running i can stop the air comming out with my finger over the hole so i striped it down couldnt get the piston out of its houseing so i cut the old plastic seal of took awhile and theres a small rubber ring under it. replaced with new seal and the cylinder would not push over the piston seems far too big now, is there any other way to take the full piston out without dameging it , ho and its still sat all night and today on its highest setting the air bags are solid regards brusboy

There is an Allen blanking screw in the crank case take that out. Turn crank until that hole matches hole in bob weight. Then use a 1/8 Allen key, (make sure it is fully engaged) use steady pressure to loosen set screw, crank will then pull off shaft. You may need to lever gently side to side to loosen it. Piston has a seal retainer on it, lever this off gently without damaging it. Remove old seal fit new and press retainer back into position making sure seal is gripped all round.
