Bought the famous EAS software off fleabay with the leads and even scrounged an old laptop just for the purpose. I am not the best PC guy in the world but all I get is an error which says application failed to initialise. Is it dodgy software or dodgy user ....anyone know??

Hi
To solve the EAS software problem you'll need to install Microsoft net framework version 2.0 . It can be downloaded (for free) from the microsoft website. This seems to affect windows XP. Hope it helps

You bought the EAS software off Ebay? It's free from RSW solutions, a contribution is optional.

you will also need to install software for the cable as well when i used one from a friend i needed the usb to serial convertor driver

Hi there billybuillder,
Have got EAS software and cable, had the same issues as your self, followed all destructions to the letter, but not able to reset EAS. after much testing of connections found that the OBD socket was corroded inside, wired in a new one(awkward and painful, hot solder) mine works a treat now.
Regards Vic

:5biagree:.i had the same trouble with my OBD11 connector, just cut it off and replace with a decent one.:D

Isn't the "Failed to initialise" message caused by the com port not being set?

I use it with a USB to serial converter and the COM port number is different every time I turn the damn thing on. It needs setting in the program, but as it doesn't remember it anyway I suppose it doesn't matter that it's a different number each time.
