if you read a previous post i made about my compressor dying over xmas then you will see i posted a link about a tempoary repair by making a new piston seal from a film canister! i said i would try get some pictures up so now having replaced mine with proper one i have some pics of the finnished result.

this is the link to the info i found and decided i would have a go:

this is what i turned out like

if worked a dream, lifted the car straight up of its bump stops and up to normal height, then to save wear on the seal i pulled the delay timer to keep it static at normal height.

this is well worth a try if you are stuck for parts or time like i was and really got me out of the s***

then as dogsbody sugested i bought the new kit from symilise from a well known auction site. no affiliation just satisfied customer!

How long did that last before you did the "proper" repair ?
