Reading through a few related threads here, it seems as if the latter, foam-type (fitted to vent flaps), seals are a better bet than the original rubber (fitted to bulkhead), type found on my 1985 '90.

Looking at a few websites the latter, foam-type seals are quoted as being suitable for models 1992 and on... can anyone advise whether these will fit my old 90, or do I have to go with the original rubber type?

Thanks again in advance.

i use foam seal ,,,stick to the flap then spray with wurth cavity wax let it set a bit then fit ,,,,,,,,,,,happy days

Why the cavity wax, GATSO? Don't they seal against the bulkhead ok? Since doing mine I have a small leak that's dropping through on to the accelerator pedal. Haven't yet worked out if it's the new vent seals or the new bulkhead to windscreen frame seal.

wax stops seals holding water ,which reduces the risk of rust ,,and if found it to aid sealing

Ah heady days of driving along with a wet knee and a sigh:( the never ending strive to find the leaks:confused: I think that's what being a Landrover driver I miss sometimes since rust on the knee set in before jumping ship to a freelander 1:rolleyes:;)
