How durable is the 12J lump compared with the series two and a quarter diesels that I've been running in the past ?
Those three bearing things used to wear out at a rate of knots,.
I'd fit a decent engine, everything within the wear limits, and 30,000 miles later the thing would be a clanking, smoking, ruin.
Despite regular oil changes.
I've noticed that the 12J has oil jets fitted under the main oil gallery, presumably in an attempt to reduce piston/bore wear.
Is there a noticeable improvement in how long these engines last ?
