its not fitted on many and those that are tend to be deformed to be partially open in any case, i would change the air bleed valve thoughI know it's been discussed on here but again the search function is not working....
The duck bill part of the non-return on the fuel filter housing - is this required ??
Thanks!

unless theres a leak from filter housing theres nothing else can go wrong, air bleed valve rids the system of air if its not blocked, pump or washers id thinkI've changed that - I'm wondering if the filter housing needs to be replaced. I've had a problem when once the D2 has been stood a while there's no throttle response for a few seconds, and runs a bit rough. This morning it roughly started and then died. It had new genuine injector washers and o rings last week. Once it's running it will be fine all day until it's been left for a several hours. If I hadn't done the injector seals I would be doing that next, but they've been done.

they can,id have alook to see if its screens are partially blocked and orange rubber valve at bottom of its housing itsnt stuck openHow would the pump cause poor starting but runs fine once started?

a new good cheap pattern, filter housing is fed by the low pressure pump in tank and also the return from engine ie through the duck bill, when filter is full that feeds the high pressure pump in tank then direct to fprIt's a new pump, but I suppose that doesn't mean much
Was it starting ok before the injector seal change Tom?
Ah ok, did you see the engine start and run before you got it mate?It didn't start at all as the engine was knackered so this is another engine with most ancillaries new!
