my RR is a 2.5 dse 98
2 months ago i set off on a trip to morrocco which is about 1500 miles frm door to door.
i had no problems on the way there just when i arrived in morrocco within the first week the temp gauge went into the red! i turned it off straight away, to find one of the tubes blown. i was then advised to take out the thermostat n drive without it while being there. i did this n the car was fine not overheating n the needle reaching bout 10 on the gauge. Six weeks later i was gona return bk to london where they put a new thermostat at 70oc but as i got into spain the car overheated n strted to blow a couple of water pipes again i turned it off immeditaley. i have been told tht as i bought the thermostat frm morrocco it may be faulty n only a copy. so wen i get my car bk i shoud put an original part frm LR.
as i did not have this problem wen the car was running without the thermostat!
