Hi gang,
About two weeks ago a drone started toward the rear (and i think drivers side) of the hippo.. Im starting to worry now, because its not completely constant noise wise - i hope its a wheel bearing, but the last time a bearing went in a car of mine, it was a constant drone that increased in noise with speed - this drone doesnt seem to increase with speed
I dont know much about 4wd systems at all, but im worried it may be my rear diff? About 4 weeks ago i got stuck in a muddy field.. Had to rock back and fore to get out.. got out no problem, but since then ive had chronic wheel wobble thru the steering wheel.. at 1st i thought id just lost a wheel balancing weight when wheel spinning, but now, combined with this droning noise im worried ive ****ed something up..
Also, and i dont know if this is in my head, but there seems to be more resitsance when im accelerating?? I dunno if ive gone bloody loopy, but i swear when im doing over 50, i have to press the throttle harder to make it maintain speed??
My VCU has only done 30k, and also had new bearings when it was changed.. and when i reverse on full lock out of my drive, it feels like the same amount of resistance that ive always had, so i dont think its that.. But I cant to do the one wheel up test as i dont have a long bar to hold the weight..
Can one of you guys through some ideas of what could be wrong my way?? Or have i just totally lost the plot and just over reacting to a wheel bearing?
The noise stays even if i coast in neutral at speed too.
Thanks peeps.
