Greetings dear Lard Rover people!
I own a 2005 Land Rover Freelander 1 with the 2.0L diesel engine. The car has developed a tricky issue with the drizzle setting. When in drizzle mode, the wiper arms immediately get stuck once left the resting position. They wont move anywhere unless I turn on a wiper setting that isn't drizzle. Also the manual wipe action allows them to move, BUT only for the duration that the action is held. If I release it, wipers get instantly stuck where they were at the moment. Because of this, it's also not possible to just "tap" the manual wiping action so the wipers would do a full back and forth swing.
I thought the problem was with the wiper motor or the mechanism, but the motor has been replaced and the mechanism is just fine and the problem still persists. Car service man suggested a bit unsurely that the fault might lie in the "Multifunction module" and he suggested replacing this. Would you guys concur with this diagnosis? The matter has been dragging many months now because of the unsure diagnosis and the fact that I wasn't able to find these modules new from any of the Land Rover spare stores online.
I'm not a car person and english is not my native language so the terminology might be very off. I thank you in advance!
